Summer Solstice & Saturn in Vedic Astrology

Summer Solstice Arrives – But So Does Saturn

Every June, the biggest astrological event is the arrival of Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year, the day of the Sun and the Soul, and one of the most powerful days for meditation and spiritual renewal.

And it is so this year, arriving right around midnight of June 20th or early morning June 21st, as it has done for thousands of years,

And yet this year Summer Solstice brings us another astrological game-changer that affects everyone’s lives.

On June 21st Saturn, the slow-moving and methodical planet of karma and taskmaster of us all, re-enters the Vedic sign of Scorpio in its retrogression, and signals a return from the future and back to the past.

Saturn has been cruising along quite nicely, thank you, in the Vedic sign of Sagittarius since January, after its long sojourn in Scorpio that began in November 2014. Maybe you felt a shift in the last few months?

Well, no matter because a shift is about to happen again.

Here is what you should watch for: What were the major themes, lessons and challenges of your life from November 2014 to early January 2017? What is still unresolved from that time period? What is the unfinished business? What were the missed opportunities? What do you wish you could do differently or maybe even over again? What must happen for your life to move forward?

Okay – good. Now you have four months to do that.

Saturn returning to its old sign of Scorpio will bring a laser focus to what is still on our karmic plate, and if we can rise to the occasion, then we can move powerfully forward on October 27
th into the next two years or so, all through 2018 and 2019.

We are getting a second chance, folks, to get ready for the future. And you may have already gotten a little preview of what it could look like from the end of this January until Summer Solstice on June 21st.

While everyone is getting this taste of the future back from the past, those who were born with their Moon in the Vedic sign of Capricorn and Libra will probably sense the biggest shifts and changes (Blame your Sade Sati, or ask your Vedic astrologer!).

Yet all is well. This occurs on June 21st, the most powerful day of the year to set a strong intention and to initiate a spiritual direction.

Every Solstice, meditate. But this Solstice – really meditate. Saturn thanks you, and may October 27th bring you the fruits of your efforts a hundredfold!
