UPDATE: due in part to ongoing uncertainty around international travel at this time, Mehtab and Guru Karam will not be coming to London in August 2021. We’ll go ahead with our trainings and workshops but in a different format. You can join online from the comfort of your own home or join us at the studio where we’ll have Mehtab and Guru Karam projected on a large screen. How to Play the Gong

This introductory course in playing the Gong is open to everyone, regardless of gong playing experience.

In this course, you will learn and practice the fundamentals of gong playing for healing and transformation. From the basic mallet techniques to constructing playing sequences, you will learn to play the gong to create an effective gong session for deep relaxation. 

This hands-on training will allow you to play several gongs and to find your voice as a gong player. This course is for yoga students, teachers, sound healers, therapists, and everyone who wish to explore the Gong.

In this certified training course, you will learn:

Playing positions for the Gong

Techniques for single and combination mallet strikes

The effects of playing different areas and percussion points of the gong

Controlling volume and experiencing rhythm

How to build playing sequences to create a gong session

How to select and take care of your gong 

The role of intuition and meditation in gong playing

Upon completion of this course, you will have the necessary skills to play the gong for relaxation and healing.
