The Healing Power of Planets

One of the earliest uses of astrology was to predict illnesses and improve the health of the rulers of the lands. Tendencies toward certain illnesses and diseases could be indicated through the conditions of the planets in a birth chart.

Even today, Ayurvedic practitioners make full use of medical astrology when devising treatment plans for their patients.

And in the western world, astrology or planetary healing was primarily practiced in the healing arts before the arrival of allopathic medicine in the early 19th century.

The question is: Can planets heal?

Yes, or more precisely, the energies that the planets represent can be used to improve our health and well-being.

For example, in medical astrology Mars is considered to be the primary indicator of the condition of the blood. Saturn is usually related to chronic illness or wasting illness such as cancer. Jupiter is associated with benign growth, fatty tissues, and the liver.

In the western world when herbs were primarily used to treat illnesses, they were gathered and processed according to the moon cycles and which planet ruled each specific herb.

The association of planets with illnesses and cures has a long history, and in addition to such modalities as herbs, flower essences, extracts, foods, gemstones which contain the energies of the various planets, there is also an emerging knowledge of the relationship between planets and sounds and the frequencies of these sounds which can be used to support healing.

Gongs, singing bowls, tuning forks, and other sound healing instruments can be tuned to the frequency of the various planets and thus create another way to bring this cosmic energy to the human body.
