In addition, the classes on crystal healing come from the Vedic traditions of astrology, yoga, and ayurveda. Likewise, they will include the use of mantras, mudras, and meditations, along with sacred sound.
Plus, classes are adjacent to the Hot Springs National Park. So, we can meditate, relax and be in a natural healing environment. Consequently, this area has drawn people for hundreds of years.

Our classes and excursions are centered around the hundred-year-old Arlington Hotel in the historical district of Hot Springs Arkansas and adjacent to the Hot Springs National Park. The hot springs were a healing place for native tribes 10,000 years ago. It was first settled by Americans in 1807 and currently has a population of 39,000.
The 5,500-acre park is adjacent to the historic Arlington Hotel and has 26 miles of walking trails, and a mountain top observation tower that provides a view of 140 square miles. There is a brick paved promenade along the historic bathhouse row with buildings dating back to the 19th century. There are seven thermal fountains and two cold spring fountains within the park that allow visitors to collect natural spring water for free.
The hot thermal water is unique to Hot Springs in that it is not a result of volcanic activity so there are not open hot springs on the surface. The waters are collected and piped from underground and then brought to the surface to be used in the bath houses and nearby hotels for soaking and bathing purposes.
Soaking tubs and spa treatments are available at the historic Quapaw Bath House and Buckstaff Bath House, as well as at the Arlington Hotel Spa. There are selected rooms at the Arlington with natural hot mineral water piped directly from the springs to your bathtub. The hot mineral waters began their underground journey over 4,400 years ago so the water you soak in was originally formed before the Great Pyramids.
You only need to know your birth date (and ideally your birth time if available). There will be classes based on the astrology in your birth chart and you will discover which crystals and gemstones work best for you personally. Mehtab and Tej are qualified Vedic astrologers and will help in the interpretation of your birth chart.
We will be visiting a mine that is world-renown for its clarity and beauty of natural rock crystal. Each day they bring freshly removed dirt from the mine that contains crystals that were overlooked in the mining process. You can rake and dig through the dirt (called “tailings”) and look for crystals that may be as small as a fingernail to as large as your hand. The crystals are covered with the red dirt from the mine that can be washed away. You may keep all the crystals you find at no charge.
If you do want to dig in the dirt, you can uncover crystals in a field area of mine diggings with a modest amount of effort and ease. It’s more like raking and moving the loose dirt around to find crystals that were hidden when the mine was excavated. Your time at the crystal fields can be as active or as chilled as you like.
We will be at one of the largest areas for natural Arkansas Quartz crystals that are world renowned for their size and clarity. The crystals may either be clear, opaque milky white, or slightly red-tinged due to the iron content of the ground.
Yes, there are several rooms of raw and cleaned crystals as well as a showroom of world class gemstones and crystals. We will be at the largest supplier of clear rock crystal in the world! Prices for individual crystals range from $5 to over $100,000.
We will be playing gongs, bowls, and other sound healing instruments for daily relaxation and yoga, and also for charging and activating the crystals we find and bring with us.
All activities and classes are optional – but you really want to go to the crystal fields, don’t you?
There are three nearby lakes, historical tours of the bathhouses, antique shopping, and several quirky museums and attractions.
We’ll have catered lunches at the Arlington with vegan and gluten free options. On our crystal hunting adventure day, we’ll have a picnic lunch.
We meet at 10 am Thursday September 21st in the Spruce Room of the Arlington Hotel. The days are structured for both classroom learning and exploring the adjacent National Park, with indoor and outside time each day. There are also open times for spa treatments, hiking, and relaxation.
One day is reserved for our road trip to the crystal mine for shopping, digging, and adventures. An all-inclusive crystal mine tour of the mine includes an insider’s look at post-mining crystal preparation areas and process, a visit to a world-class gallery showroom featuring specimens from around the world, and a history of the crystal mine and the surrounding area, with a guided trip into a mining pit where you can see how crystals are discovered and cleaned.
