A Gong for Every Chakra!

Many people experience healing and relaxation from the sound of the Gong. And the gong has been used therapeutically for a wide range of applications, from treating addictions, balancing the emotions, and even reducing inflammation in the body.

The gong has also been used to clear the blocks in the chakras, the various energy centers of the body, whenever it is effectively played. A good gong player, or gong therapist, can structure a gong relaxation session to work with specific chakras according to the needs of the client.

You may have also experienced a sound healing session that used singing bowls, tuning forks or chimes tuned to specific chakras.

But did you know that there are also specific gongs that can be played to affect and balance any chakra? Come meet the seven gongs for the seven chakras!

The gongs used for chakra balancing and healing are tuned to specific frequencies and are also known as the Planetary Gongs, or gongs that have the energies of specific planetary tones. Here are the planetary gongs that are used for each chakra:

First Chakra – Security

The Earth Day Gong vibrates at the same frequency as the first chakra and connects us to the daily rhythm of the earth and its diurnal cycle of night and day. It vibrates at the same rhythm as our most basic human activities and creates a sense of well-being and safety of living on the Earth. Other planetary gongs that work with first chakra are the Saturn Gong and the Mars Gong.

Second Chakra – Connectivity

The Synodic Moon Gong vibrates at the same frequency as the second chakra and allows us to feel the connectivity and relationship to those around us. Its watery nature works with the emotional body and ties us more closely to the monthly rhythms of the lunation cycle. Other planetary gongs that work with second chakra are the Jupiter Gong and the Venus Gong.

Third Chakra – Manifestation

The Sun Gong vibrates at the same frequency as third chakra and gives us a sense of personal power and belonging. Its sense of vitality and steadiness provide us with the ability to manifest and materialize the needs of the soul on its journey. The other planetary gong that works with third chakra is the Mars Gong.

Fourth Chakra – Compassion

The Earth Year Gong vibrates at the same frequency as the fourth chakra and creates the experience of living in the heart center. It connects us to the cycle of the seasons and the amazing experience of living an embodied existence on this earth. It creates a sense of compassion for others as well as self-compassion. Other planetary gongs that work with fourth chakra are the Venus Gong and the Sidereal Moon Gong.

Fifth Chakra – Expression

The Mercury Gong vibrates at the same frequency as the fifth chakra and allows us to speak, hear, and express our True Self. It opens us to sound, as well as empowering us to communicate from the heart center. With the Mercury Gong we can powerfully speak our truth, and it stands alone as the most powerful planetary gong for the fifth chakra.

Sixth Chakra – Perception

The Venus Gong vibrates at the same frequency as the sixth chakra and awakens our intuition so we can perceive what is beneath the outward surface of our existence. With Venus Gong, we can truly see that Love is all around us.  Other planetary gongs that work with sixth chakra are the Jupiter Gong and the Sidereal Moon Gong.

Seventh Chakra – Union

The Earth Platonic Gong vibrates at the same frequency as the crown chakra and takes us into a place of relaxed vastness that allows us to easily connect to our essential timeless nature. With the Earth Platonic Gong, we are able to transcend the limitations of the physical body and unify with spirit. The other planetary gong that works with seventh chakra is the Sun Gong.
